HVIAC Players of the Week - November 12

Ariana Jones, Five Towns

Junior • Guard • Bronx, N.Y.

Jones was consistent for the Sound averaging 30 points and 4.5 rebounds over a pair of games last week. She dropped 31 on 50 percent shooting (13-26) leading to a win over Word of Life and added 29 points, nine rebounds, and two assists in a loss to Albany Pharmacy.

Daniella Wood, Berkeley

Freshman • Forward • Bronx, N.Y.

Wood had a very impressive debut despite her team's loss to St. Elizabeth as she tied for the game-high with 22 points and led all players with 22 rebounds for a big double-double as well as two blocked shots.

Nate Beltran, Albany Pharmacy

Senior • Guard • Reading, Pa.

Beltran led the Panthers to a 2-0 record last week averaging 25.5 points (44.4% FG), 6.0 rebounds, and 5.5 steals, including a 38-point explosion (14-24 FG, 5-10 3FG) with nine boards in an 82-64 HVIAC win over Five Towns.  

Jaelin Wright, Culinary

Freshman • Guard • Newport News, Va.

Wright did it all for the Steels despite the loss to King's going off for a 14-point, 17-rebound double-double along with five steals on the defensive end.

Kyree Sawyer, Five Towns • Men's Basketball

The junior lifted the Sound to a league win over Word of Life with a game-high 29 points and averaged 24.5 and 7.0 rebounds over two games. 

Lanasia Drain, Five Towns • Women's Basketball

The freshman scored 14 points (6-9 FG) with eight boards and two blocks in a 62-48 win over Word of Life.

Eric Romero, Five Towns • Men's Basketball

The freshman averaged 12.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and a steal over a 1-1 week for Five Towns.

Emma Webster, Albany Pharmacy • Women's Basketball

The senior averaged 13.5 points over four games for the Panthers highlighted by a 41-point explosion on 13 threes in a lopsided win over Five Towns.
