ALBANY, N.Y.—The Gryphons saw their championship hopes dashed as Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer fell to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 5-2, in the semifinal round of the 2012 Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Soccer Tournament on Saturday.

Clarence Johns (Portland, Ore., Lincoln) scored the first goal of the match to take a 1-0 lead in the first half but the tournament top-seed Panthers struck back to equalize the score at 1-1 entering the intermission.
In the second half, the Gryphon back line stumbled, allowing ACPHS to score four unanswered goals.

Harper Hunt (Paris, Texas, Paris) wrapped up his career by adding a second Sarah Lawrence score on a penalty kick in the 60th minute for his third score of the season. In the end, ACPHS clinched the 5-2 win to knock the Gryphons from the tournament.
Sarah Lawrence concludes the season with a 3-3 league record, having earned the program's first-ever berth in the HVWAC Championship event.
