Huskies Win Thriller!

Johnstown, NY – The Word of Life Huskies traveled down to Johnstown to play Fulton-Montgomery Community College Raiders. Both schools played in a scrimmage about 2 and a half weeks ago and they both showed great improvement from the last time they played. The Huskies entered play 1-2 on the season and the Raiders entered 1-1-1.

The Huskies struck first as Alivia Jones scored in the 20th Minute of the game for her 4th goal of the 2023 season. The Huskies would take that goal into the halftime break with a 1-0 lead. The Huskies and Raiders traded close opportunities throughout the game, then the Raiders found the back of the net with a shot being deflected off a Huskies player and past the Goal Keeper in the 67th Minute to level the game at 1-1. Just 4 minutes and 32 seconds later in the 71st minute, Alivia Jones on a pass from Isabella Tanis found the back of the net for the second time to give the Huskies a 2-1 lead. After back-and-forth opportunities, the final whistle blew and the Huskies earned their second win of the season. Faith Lewis also earned her first win as Goal Keeper in her first career start between the posts.

The Huskies play their next game on Wednesday, September 27 at SUNY Adirondack at 5 pm
