The ACPHS men's basketball team continued its winning ways on Monday as they defeated New England College 70-60 to improve to 10-2 on the season.
Junior center
Steven Brown earned a triple-double with 14 points, 17 rebounds and 10 blocks, while
Casey Redfern once again led the team in scoring with 19 points.
The Pilgrams were able to pull away to a nine point lead halfway through the first half, but as the Panthers warmed up, so did their offense.With less than a minute remaining in the half the Panthers regained the lead as Brown scored on a layup to give the Panthers a one point advantage.
With seconds remaining on the clock, the Panthers inbounded the ball to freshman
Ryan McVaigh who tossed up a
long range shot that beat the buzzer to send the Panthers into the half up by four.
The Panthers poured on the pressure in the second half, widening a lead that would prove too much for the Pilgrams to recover from.
Sophomore guard
John Tremblay also contributed 13 points, four rebounds and two assists in the victory.
The Panthers return to action on Thursday, January 24th at home against Vermont Tech.
