BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—In the teams' first league game of the season, Sarah Lawrence College lost to Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) rival Berkeley College (N.Y.), 92-31, at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Sunday.
After being held scoreless for nearly four minutes of the game, Sarah Lawrence sophomore
Malcolm Knowles (Houston, Texas, School of the Woods) scored the Gryphons' first points on a pair of free throws.
From there, Berkeley took control of the game and opened a 48-17 lead by halftime. Senior Gryphon
John Collector (Santa Barbara, Calif., Dos Pueblos) led Sarah Lawrence (2-4, 0-1 HVMAC) with five points and five rebounds in the opening half.

Francis Oppong (Brooklyn, N.Y., Erasmus) had an impressive second half, tallying 10 points for the Green and White. He finished the game with team-highs of 14 points and nine rebounds, falling just short of his third straight double-double.
Berkeley (3-2, 1-0 HVMAC) maintained its pressure throughout the second stanza, racking up a total of 36 fast-break points en route to the win.
