ACPHS Ties Berkeley

The ACPHS men's soccer team jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Saturday afternoon, but couldn't hold the lead as the visitors from Berkeley College rallied to score twice in the second half to earn a 2-2 tie. Zach Hecox, the leading scorer for ACPHS on the season, scored both goals for the Panthers.

With less than seven minutes remaining in the first half, Hecox scored the opening goal of the game on an assist from Steve Sullivan. Hecox extended the lead for ACPHS by scoring another goal 10 minutes into the second half on an assist from Ryan Mack, giving him a team-leading 10 goals on the season. Hecox currently ranks 11th in the USCAA in goals scored and seventh in total shots (50) for the season).

The Knights scored two goals, one in the 62nd minute and another in the 66th minute, to even the score and although both teams had good chances in the two overtime periods, neither squad was able to find the back of the net.

ACPHS completes the 2012 regular season with a game at Webb Institute on Saturday.
