The ACPHS men's basketball team continued it's winning ways Thursday night when they defeated the Timberwolves of SUNY Adirondack 79-69.

This game marks the 4th consecutive win, and brings the Panthers win loss record to 5-1. "I think it is the best start we have had in my tenure as head coach. This is certainly one of the most talented and deepest teams we have ever had," said head coach Craig Tyan.The combination of new players and returners is proving the be the key to the Panthers success.

Junior captain Casey Redfern, who is currently ranked fifth in the nation for points per game in the USCAA, led the Panthers in scoring with 30 points; while newcomer, Steven Brown, who is ranked third in the nation for rebounds per game in the USCAA, earned a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds.

The play went back and forth in the first half of Thursday's game, with both teams trading the lead. With less than three minutes remaining in the half, Redfern sank a three point shot that helped the Panthers gain the lead, and the momentum they needed to go on a six point streak to send them into the half up by seven.

The game remained close in the second half with the Timberwolves taking the lead several times. With 5:40 left on the clock, and the score even at 63, the Panthers were able to take the lead on a three point shot from John Tremblay, and the Timberwolves never recovered allowing the Panthers the win.

Sophomore point guard, John Tremblay had 10 points, seven assists and five rebounds, while freshman Ryan McVaigh, had nine points and 10 rebounds.

Coach Tynan says, "I'm excited about the potential of this team and hope they can continue to improve and achieve their goals."

The Panthers hope to keep the win streak going when they return to conference play on Saturday, December 1st, at Vaughn College.
