The first annual Bible College Volleyball WNIT was hosted by the Word of Life Bible Institute Huskies on October 21 and 22. The Huskies welcomed the Dayspring Bible College Eagles (IL) and The King's College Lions (NY) for the weekend tournament.
In a precursor game for the tournament on October 15, the Huskies had been defeated by the Lions 3-1. The Lions and the Eagles competed in the opening match of the weekend; the Eagles won this initial match with a 3-1 win over the Lions. The Huskies were next to face off against the Eagles, and the Eagles won 3-1 in that game as well. The standings after Friday were 2-0 for Dayspring Bible College, 1-1 for The King's College, and 0-2 for Word of Life Bible Institute.
Saturday would be an intense day for each of the teams. The Huskies and the Eagles rematched in the 10:00 AM slot to open the day. The Huskies took a 2-1 lead after three sets, but the Eagles came back with a tie in the fourth set; the Huskies fell in the fifth set, giving Dayspring a 3-2 win. The next game featured a rematch between the Lions and Eagles. The Lions gave the Eagles a different game than the day before, winning 3-1. This brought the Eagles down to 3-1 and the Lions up to 2-1 for the final match of the weekend.
The Lions faced off against the Huskies in the fifth and final match of the tournament, with the Huskies seeking to secure their first win and prevent the Lions from taking first place in the WNIT. The Lions showed their strength as they took the first two sets against the Huskies, but the Huskies fought their way back by winning the third and fourth sets. The Huskies maintained control in the final set to earn their first win of the tournament.
At the end of the weekend, the Dayspring Bible College Eagles celebrated victory as the winners of the tournament championship.
