Men's Basketball Earns 72-43 Homecoming Victory

Box Score
BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—In front of a Homecoming crowd of more than 400 fans, Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball cruised past Pratt Institute, 72-43, in a non-conference game at Noyes Court at Campbell Sports Center on Friday.

Sarah Lawrence (2-2) took control early, building a 7-0 lead to start the game. From there, Pratt (2-3) never closed the gap to fewer than four points.

With SLC in front, 25-9, the Cannoneers rallied to score eight straight points. Looking to stop the momentum, the Gryphons went on to score the next 15 points to secure a 40-17 advantage en route to a 44-21 lead at the break.

Seven Gryphons got on the scoresheet in the first half, led by captain Josh Niebloom (Livingston, N.J./Golda Och Academy) and Wyatt Rocheleau (San Jose, Calif./Christopher) with 12 points apiece in the period. Reigning Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week Stevan Radosavljevic (Lazarevac, Serbia/Grammar School Lazarevac) collected nine rebounds to lead all players in the half.

The second half saw more of the same, as SLC continued to dominate the action. Midway through the period, the Gryphons scored 15 points while holding Pratt scoreless for more than seven minutes, turning a 55-29 lead into a 70-29 rout. Pratt's shooters stemmed the tide in the closing minutes, but were unable to undo the damage in SLC's 72-43 triumph.

Radosavljevic capped off the second double-double of his rookie season by tallying 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Niebloom racked up a team-high 19 points, while Niko Yuvienco (Queens, N.Y./Christ the King) and Rocheleau each totaled a dozen; Rocheleau showed off his ball-handling with game highs of five assists and six steals. Center Graham Gilleran (San Francisco, Calif./Archbishop Riordan) had three blocks and grabbed 10 rebounds, reaching double-digits for the second time this season.

For Pratt, Ari Grant led the way with a game-high of 20 points; he led the Cannoneers with nine rebounds. Sam Peterson scored another 11 points for Pratt, accumulating seven from the foul line. The Pratt bench contributed 0 points, compared to 21 from the Gryphon relievers.

Sarah Lawrence returns to its home court on Monday. The Gryphons host NYU-Poly on Noyes Court at 7 p.m.
