Box Score
ALBANY, N.Y. –Despite holding the hosts scoreless for more than half the game, Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer fell to Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) opponent Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, 3-0, at ACPHS Soccer Field on Sunday.

The loss is the first in league play for Sarah Lawrence (1-3, 1-1 HVMAC), while ACPHS (5-2, 3-0 HVMAC) maintains an undefeated conference ledger.

In the first half, the Gryphons totaled five shots, including two from the season's leading scorer, sophomore Ishaan Pujari (Bangalore, India, Inventure Academy). Classmate Sebastian Hermann (Munich, Germany, Wilhelmsgymnasium) also put a shot on frame in the first half, while senior Trevor Wallace (San Anselmo, Calif., Cate School) saved four shots in goal to preserve a scoreless first half.

The second half saw ACPHS junior Zack Hecox (New Hartford, N.Y./New Hartford) put the Panthers on the scoreboard in the 52nd minute. His shot from 20 yards found the top right corner of the net, and less than one minute later, Hecox repeated the feat with a second goal into the right side of the frame. Sophomore Ali Macchiarelli (Broadalbin, N.Y./Broadalbin-Perth) assisted both goals.

With ACPHS leading 2-0, Hecox iced the game by completing the hat trick in the 66th minute on a pass from senior Anthony Changelo (Rouses Point, N.Y./Northeastern Clinton).

Sarah Lawrence managed four shots in the second half but was unable to sneak any balls past ACPHS keeper Adam Hoye-Simek (Broadalbin, N.Y./Broadalbin-Perth), who finished with four saves.

Wallace finished the game with seven saves total, while first-year player Juan Sucre (Caracas, Venezuela, ASFM (Monterrey, Mexico)) filled in as keeper to save two shots. Junior Rodrigo Cuenca (San Diego, Calif., La Jolla Country Day) tallied a team-leading four shots.

Sarah Lawrence returns home for its next game, a showdown with Purchase College at Tibbetts Brook Park on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
