The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences men's basketball team won their conference opener on Sunday against Pratt Institute 71-27.
Leading the way for the Panthers was freshman forward
Ryan McVaigh with a game high 18 points, including four three-pointers.
The Pratt Institute cannoneers stayed with the Panthers in the opening minutes of the game but once the Panthers heated up they went on a scoring streak. McVaigh downed 14 points in the first half while junior forward,
Casey Redfern contributed 8 points to send the Panthers into halftime with an 18 point lead.
The Panthers really took charge in the second half, going on a 20 point run in the first 10 minutes of the half and ultimately outscoring the cannoneers 34-8.
Redfern scored 14 points in the game and went 8 for 10 from the freethrow line, while
Andrew Dujack and
Emmanuel Okafor each contributed eight points.
The Panthers improve to 3-1 on the season and will return to play at home on Tuesday, November 27th against Green Mountain College.
