Women's Cross Country Finishes Third at Skyline Championship

RIVERDALE, N.Y.— The Yeshiva women's cross country team scored a third place finish of nine teams at the 2013 Skyline Conference Championship on Sunday. The Maccabees earned a 96 score in the race.

Stephanie Greenberg finished ninth overall in the race of 98 runners and was the first amongst Yeshiva runners. She finished the five kilometers at Van Cortlandt Park in 21:14. Talya Rohde was second for the Maccabees and fifteenth overall in 21:43. Sarah Mizrachi was seventeenth overall, while earning Yeshiva's third fastest time in 22:00. Rena Thomas was thirtieth overall and fourth for the Maccabees in 23:23. Corrie Mathias scored a thirty-second place finish, while rounding out the Yeshiva top five in 23:33. Sarah Lazarus was forty-sixth in the race in 24:30, while Ruthie Heller was forty-eighth in 24:47. Julianna Wasserman finished sixtieth in 25:46, while Shoshana Mond finished in sixty-forth in 26:12. Rebecca van Wasserman finished seventy-forth in 27:24.

St. Joseph's-Long Island won the event with a score of 24. All five scorers finished in the top eight. Behind St. Joseph's-Long Island was the College of Mount Saint Mary with 65 points. Behind the Maccabees' third place finish was Sage who finished fourth with a score of 112. Purchase College was fifth with a 128, while Farmingdale State was sixth with a 149. Maritime College was seventh with a 171, while the College at Old Weestbury was eighth with a 244. The College of Mount Saint Vincent was ninth with a 246.
