Panthers Rally to Tie Hudson Valley CC

In an offensive shootout, the ACPHS men's soccer team came from behind three separate times as the Panthers earned a hard-fought 3-3 tie against Hudson Valley Community College on Thursday afternoon. Anthony Changelo scored two goals, while Zach Hecox also scored as ACPHS goes to 6-4-1 on the season.

Just four minutes into the game, the Vikings opened the scoring on the day with an early goal by John Joyal. At the 15 minute mark, Collin Owczarzak made a great pass past two HVCC defenders to Hecox who beat the keeper and evened the score at one. Hudson Valley scored a late goal in the first half to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.

With 18 minutes remaining in the game, Changelo scored on an assist from Ryan Mack, before the Vikings again scored to take a 3-2 lead. With just five minutes left in the contest, Changelo scored again as he beat two defenders to even the score and send the game into overtime where neither team was able to put the ball in the net.

ACPHS returns to action on Saturday, October 13 as they host Berkeley College.
