Panthers Fall to Morrisville at Home


ALBANY, NY – The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences fell 4-0 in a match against Morrisville State. The loss drops the Panthers to 2-3 on the season while the win gives the Mustangs a 3-2-1 record.

The Mustangs opened up the scoring when Brian Culkin passed it from midfield to Chernor Barrie who beat the defender and buried the shot to the bottom right of the net.  The goal was scored at the 14:52 minute-mark.

Morrisville kept the pressure on the Panthers by adding their second tally of the game at the 33:22 minute-mark of the first half. Gregory Stallone took a feed from the  Chernor Barrie, who was in the lower left corner of the box, and buried it to the top left corner of the net. The goal gave the Mustangs a 2-0 lead.

The Mustangs added one last tally at the 44:16 minute-mark of the first half. Philemon Appiah buried a feed from Alan Peckham to give Morrisville a 3-0 lead heading into the half.

The Mustangs added one more goal in the second half to bring the score to 4-0. Carmel Addae picked up a loose ball in a scramble around the net and buried it at the 61:51 minute-mark.

The Mustangs finished the game with 23 shots attempted, forcing Panthers goaltender to make seven saves. The Panthers tallied six shots forcing Mustangs goalie Eric Berglund to make three saves.

The Panthers are back in action on Saturday when they take on Vaughn College at 2 pm.
