The ACPHS men's basketball team came up just short against Green Mountain College on Tuesday night, falling by a score of 83-80 to fall to 0-3 on the young season.
Casey Redfern (Binghamton, NY, Chenango Forks) led the Panthers in scoring with 27 points, while
John Tremblay (Schenectady, NY, La Salle Institute) scored a career-high 17 points.
In the first half, the Eagles came out shooting well from the field, taking a 40-28 advantage into halftime. In the second half, Redfern exploded for the Panthers, scoring 23 points in the final 20 minutes of the game to keep ACPHS close. Redfern also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and dished out four assists. While Tremblay pulled down five rebounds and also contributed four assists,
Peter Aiken (Pottersville, NY, North Warren) (14 points) and
Tamer Elias (10 points) also reached double-figures in points for ACPHS.
ACPHS had two shots in the game's final minute to even the score, but were unable to connect on either opportunity. The Panthers return to action on Thursday night as they host Word of Life Bible Institute.
