BRONX, N.Y.— The Yeshiva University women's cross country team finished tied for first of four teams, while the men finished second of three at the Mustang Stampede at Ferry Point Park hosted by Monroe College Friday morning.
On the women's side, the Maccabees scored 30 points to tie the host Monroe College.
Stephanie Greenburg was Yeshiva's top finisher. She was second overall in 22:42 over the five kilometer course.
Talya Rohde was second on Yeshiva and third overall in 22:46, while Sara Mizrachi was a top five finisher, finishing fifth in 23:21.
Corrie Mathias was eighth overall of 30 runners in 23:51, while
Sarah Lazarus was fourteenth in 25:12.
Ruthie Heller came home in twenty third overall in 30:43.
York College finished third, while fellow Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival was fourth of the four schools.
On the men's side, Yeshiva got 43 points to finish second. Monroe College won the event with a perfect score of 15 as all top five finishers were from Monroe. York College finished third of three teams with 77 points.
For the Maccabees, Dor Levine was the top finisher with a time of 17:25; he was sixth of eighteen. The seventh, eighth and ninth place finishers were also Maccabees as behind Levine was
Isaac Markel in 17:44. Next for Yeshiva was
Joseph Lipton in 18:50, followed by
Natan Koloski in 19:14. Sam Weinstein was thirteenth overall in 20:20, while
Moshe Blockman was fifteenth in 21:31.
