Culinary's 6-for-12 three-point shooting in the opening half earned the Steels a 32-14 lead at halftime. The Gryphons bounced back in the second half and outscored their foes by a 30-22 margin, but the effort was only able to narrow the final deficit to 10.

Junior Greg Smith (Tampa, Fla., Gaither) led the Gyrphons with 16 points and 12 rebounds to earn his fourth double-double of the season. After shooting 2-for-3 in the first half, he came on late in the game to score 12 in the second half, including 4-for-6 from the floor and 2-for-3 from beyond the arc.

First-year player Campbell Jackson (Washington, D.C., The Field School) pitched in six points while gathering 11 rebounds. Despite being hindered by foul trouble, senior John Collector (Santa Barbara, Calif., Dos Pueblos) tallied eight points and seven rebounds on the day.

Sarah Lawrence returns to Bronxville for its home finale on Wednesday, when the Gryphons host Cooper Union at 7 p.m.
