ACPHS Bounces Back With Victory Over UMaine-Augusta

BOX SCORE

After losing for the first time since mid-November on Saturday against New Hampshire Tech, the ACPHS men's basketball team bounced back on Sunday with a dominating 80-57 victory over the University of Maine-Augusta in the consolation game of the NHTI New Year's Invitational. Casey Redfern scored a game-high 34 points, as he connected on six of 10 shots from three-point land to lead the Panthers. John Tremblay played a very strong game for ACPHS, dishing out nine assists while not committing any turnovers.

The first half was back and forth as the Moose used some hot shooting from the outside to stay close to ACPHS throughout the first 20 minutes. Redfern hit a three-point basket with just two seconds left in the half to give ACPHS a 36-33 lead going into the break, while giving the junior forward 20 points in the opening half.

In the second half, the Panthers received strong play from Joe Britt, Ryan McVaigh, and Steven Brown who used their strength inside to pull away from UMaine. Britt finished with 14 points and seven rebounds, McVaigh added 13 points and eight rebounds, while Brown chipped in with eight points and 13 rebounds.

ACPHS returns to action on January 20 with a home game against the Culinary Institute.
