Huskies Honor Quentin Lackey on Senior Night

Pottersville, NY - - The Huskies held their first Senior night for the Men's basketball team on Wednesday evening against the Berkeley Knights. Before the game, head coach Justin Cousins shared a brief statement and congratulations to Quentin Lackey on his final home game of his collegiate career.

The Huskies then got off to a hot start against Berkeley with an 8-2 run to open the game. But the Knights quickly adjusted and came back to even it out. It would go back and forth for most of the 1st half, but the Knights would stretch their lead out to 12 right before the half. It would be all Berkeley in the 2nd half outscoring the Huskies 48-29 and taking a 94-63 victory to spoil senior night. Joseph Mathews would score 23 points with 7 rebounds, while Travis Shearin would score 13 points and collect 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Quentin Lackey would score 5 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in his final home game.

Lackey's career stats have him with 780 career points, making him the Word of Life Huskies All-Time leading point scorer. He also collected rebound 264, making him the Huskies' All-Time rebounding leader passing Noah Amet's 250 (2020/21-2021/22). He also broke Matt Dembinski's Defensive rebound record all-time with 172 Defensive rebounds.  Lackey also shattered the All-Time Assist record at Word of Life hitting Triple digits and reaching 153 on Wednesday night. Lackey also broke the school record for most Free Throws made in a career with 120. Lackey will have 3 games remaining to continue extending his records and even to set some new ones before his time is up at Word of Life.

The Huskies will be traveling to Patrick Henry College in Virginia to play in the 2024 Bible College NIT and were awarded the #2 seed and will face #7 Appalachian Bible College in the Quarter-Final Round on Thursday at 1 pm.
