Game Recap: Women's Basketball | | Tim Maisonet | Sports Information Director

Snell Leads Women's Basketball to HVIAC Title Game

Sophomore guard Clare Snell scored 20 points on 9-20 shooting on Saturday, leading the ACPHS Panthers to a 55-39 win over The King's College Lions in the opening game of the 2020 HVIAC Women's Basketball Tournament. ACPHS will now head to the HVIAC Championship game where they will take on the Berkeley College Knights.

It was a great day at the office for Snell and her teammates, as the Panthers turned in a performance worthy of advancing to the next round. The teams traded buckets early, but Albany closed the first quarter on an 9-0 that would turn out to be all they needed to dispatch the Lions. The Panthers never trailed after they went on that run, constantly staving off any attempt to comeback by King's.

Snell was the driving force behind the win, adding 11 rebounds, three steals, and two assists to her game-high 20 points. Senior forward Olivia Parmeter also had a huge game recording 18 points and going 12-13 from the free-throw line. Freshman forward Hope Walker and junior guard Emily D'Abrosca both chipped in with 11 and ten rebounds each.

Albany will look to win their first HVIAC Championship since 2017 tomorrow when they take on the Berkeley College Knights at 1:00 PM. Earlier this year, the Knights got the best of Albany when they beat the Panthers 69-54 in Albany. Live stats and video links can be found on HVIAC.net
