The ACPHS men's basketball team continued it's conference win streak this Sunday, as they defeated the Culinary Institute 95-82.
Junior forward
Casey Redfern, who was recently named
USCAA Player of the Week for Division II basketball, led the Panthers in scoring with a game high 33 points.
Although the Steels jumped out to an early six point lead; Redfern shot back, scoring the next eight points to regain the lead for ACPHS. With minutes remaining in the half the Panthers were able to widen the gap to 11 points, taking them into halftime with a 52-43 lead.
The Panthers hung onto the lead throughout the second half, thanks to the efforts of Freshman
Ryan McVaigh, who scored 12 points,
Joe Britt and
Michael Beyer who each scored 10 points.
Also contributing to the conference victory were
Steven Brown with nine points and eight rebounds, and
Mark Daoud with eight points.
The Panthers improve to 9-2 on the season and 3-0 in conference play.
