BROOKLYN – The Pratt Cannoneers fell to the Panthers of Albany Pharmacy, 83-39, on Saturday afternoon in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. Loss brings Pratt's overall record to 5-14 (1-6 HVIAC), while the Panthers improve to 11-7, including a conference record of 5-2.
Coming off one of their better shooting performances on Friday evening against Davis College, the Cannoneers struggled from the field, connecting on 11-45 (24.4%) attempts, while Albany Pharmacy fared much better, connecting on 30-53 (56.6%) shots for the game. Although Pratt was able to hit on nine 3-pointers overall, they hit just nine out of 20 (45%) free throw attempts.
Defensively, the Panthers held a 38-23 rebounding margin and forced the Cannoneers into 25 turnovers which resulted in 32 points.
Pratt was paced by Andrew Yaglenski's 17 points.
Albany Pharmacy had a trio of players score in double figures, highlighted by Naythan Beltran's game-high 23 points.
"We ran into a tough Albany Pharmacy today and things weren't quite clicking for us," said head coach Max Sass. "We'll refocus and get ready for Touro on Tuesday."
UP NEXT – The Cannoneers return to the ARC on Tuesday, February 6, when they host Touro College at 8:00pm in non-conference action.
