JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. - The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) playoff picture still remains unclear after Wednesday's contest between the Vaughn College Warriors and the Davis College Falcons. The Warriors entered the game as the number four seed in the conference. The Falcons entered the game as the number five seed in the HVIAC, and out of the playoffs.

Both teams played with a sense of urgency and desperation. The Falcons got out to an early 1-0 lead, scoring in the first 10 minutes of the game. Freshman striker Denis Moshchenko (Brooklyn, NY) would tie the game at 1-1 for the Warriors after a beautiful assist by Alfred Dwamena (Bronx, NY). Moshchenko finished the game with two goals, bringing his total to 11 goals scored on the year.

Mohamed Sey (Brooklyn, NY) scored his first goal of the season for the Warriors in a critical moment in the second half. The Warriors trailed the Falcons 3-2 before Sey's game tying goal. Neither team could close the other out, which led to a 3-3 final score in overtime.

The Warriors still remain the fourth seed in the HVIAC and in the final playoff spot. However the men's soccer team have two crucial conference games remaining that can determine whether they will make the playoffs or if they will be on the outside looking in.

On Sunday, October 18, the Warriors will travel to Poughkeepsie, NY to take on the Steels of Culinary Institute. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
