NEW YORK — Berkeley College sophomore Amadou Sy (Dakar, Senegal) was selected Player of the Year as the members of the 2019 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference Men's Soccer Team were announced today.
SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry garnered the HVIAC's two other year-end honors as freshman midfielder Aaron Flint (Woodhull, N.Y.) took home Rookie of the Year while the Mighty Oaks received Coaching Staff of the Year accolades led by head coach Adam Scalisi.
Sy totaled seven goals and two assists in conference play while leading the league overall with 27 goals on the season. Flint posted a goal and an assist in league play in his first season of collegiate soccer while Scalisi guided the runners-up to an 8-4-1 record and 4-1-1 mark against the HVIAC.
In total, 17 men were honored with All-HVIAC recognition for outstanding play throughout the season and four were repeat winners.
The HVIAC All-Conference Team, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year were selected by the conference’s men’s soccer head coaches prior to the tournament based on regular-season conference play.
