Chung Headlines Leads All-HVIAC Men's Tennis Team as Player of the Year

FLUSHING, N.Y. — Culinary Institute of America sophomore Wonil Chung (Seongnam, South Korea) was named the 2019 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year as the league announced the members of the 2019 All-HVIAC Men’s Tennis Team.

Chung, last year's Co-Rookie of the Year, assembled an unblemished season in league play at No. 1 and 2 singles and in at top doubles and was named Player of the Week one time this season. 

Culinary freshman Lindsey McDonough (Reading, Pa) was tapped the league's Rookie of the Year also going undefeated in league play at three different singles flights, and winning her lone doubles match in the No. 1 position.

Leading the Steels to their second-straight regular season title, Culinary Institute of America head coach Dennis Anderson and assistant coach Denise Mazzei were  named Coaching Staff of the Year. 

Seven were honored by the conference for outstanding play throughout the season and three were repeat honorees.

The HVIAC All-Conference Team, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year Awards are selected by the men's tennis coaches in the conference.
