The Yeshiva University Maccabees successfully defended their Cross Country Championships title with a 29 point victory over runner up Albany College of Pharmacy.  All nine Maccabees, led by Samuel Cohen and Oliver Sax who took the top two spots, finished in medal position for a team score of 30 points, five less than last year’s finish. 

2011 HVMAC Individual Champion

Yeshiva University senior Samuel Cohen won the HVMAC Cross Country Championships with a time of 29:05, taking a 23 second victory over the 8K course at Purchase College.  On a soggy, muddy course, Cohen ran his fastest race of the season and was just five seconds off the best time in the conference this season to improve upon his sixth place finish last year.

2011 HVMAC Coach of the Year

Stan Watson • Yeshiva University
Yeshiva University’s Stan Watson has been voted as the 2011 HVMAC Coach of the Year for the second straight year.  Watson helped build upon the success of last year’s championship with runner-up finishes in the regular season at the Baruch and Queensboro CC Invitationals.  Watson’s Maccabees saw only a 2:32 time gap between the overall winner and their ninth finisher.
