Albany Pharmacy Names Barnes Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach

The ACPHS Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the addition of Jeffery Barnes to their 2017-2018 coaching staff. Barnes has been named the Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach and Head Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach. 

"I am thrilled and grateful to be accepted into the role of Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach here at ACPHS. I am looking forward to a great and prosperous year for the Panther Harriers Cross Country and Track and Field program," said Barnes.

Barnes comes to ACPHS with a wealth of knowledge and experience as both an athlete and a coach. As a Track and Field standout at NCAA Division 1 University at Albany, Barnes was an America East Conference Champion in the 200 meters, an NCAA regional qualifier, and currently holds the school record in the 1600 meters. 

Following his collegiate career, Barnes coached Track and Field for the Albany City School District from 2012-2017. 

"We are very excited to have Jeffery lead our Cross Country and Track and Field programs, and are confident that the knowledge and skill set he brings will ensure that our programs continue to grow and flourish," said Director of Athletics and Recreation Christine Kanawada.

Both the Men's and Women's Cross Country teams will begin their season on September 9th in Castleton, VT at the Castleton University Invitational.
