Tournament MVP

Lauren Percodani - Mount Saint Vincent - Freshman - Guard - Staten Island, NY (St. Joesph)

One of the most difficult challenges in college basketball is to be a freshman point guard, but Mount Saint Vincent freshman Lauren Percodani proved to be mature beyond her years this season, leading MSV to the HVWAC Championship. Percodani scored 14 points and added five rebounds, six assists and four steals in the final, and for the tournament she averaged 13.5 points, six assists, four rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game and led the Mount to both wins. She shot an incredible 68% from the floor, and committed only six turnovers all weekend long despite enormous pressure, particularly on Sunday.

Coach of the Year

Ed Ryder •  Mount Saint Vincent

In his second season at the helm, Mount Saint Vincent Head Women’s Basketball Coach Ed Ryder led the Dolphins to one of the finest seasons in the history of the program, and an incredible turn-around from one year to the next. Mount Saint Vincent finished the season 17-10, and swept the HVWAC regular season and post-season, a year after finishing 8-17 and graduating 82% of its offense. Their success came with three freshmen, a sophomore, and a junior in the starting line-up. Ryder was also named the Skyline Conference Coach of the Year for his efforts.
