Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Mark McClenahan, SUNY ESF

Sophomore • Doylestown, Pa.

The sophomore placed 69th overall with a time of 28:42 leading the Mighty Oaks to a 10th place finish at the highly competitive Yellowjacket Invitational at the University of Rochester.

Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

Matt Johnson, SUNY ESF

Freshman • Nineveh, N.Y.

Johnson was ESF's first freshman finisher at the Yellowjacket Invitational where the heat index was in the 90's at race time. With a time of 30:09, he was 5th on the team moving five spots up from his 10th place finish last race.

Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Julie Romano, SUNY ESF

Sophomore • Mansfield, Mass.

The sophomore ran a 6K personal best despite a heat index near 90 at race time to lead the Mighty Oaks to a 6th place finish in a highly competitive Yellowjacket Invitational, placing 30th out of over 200 runners with a time of 24:45.

Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

Lauren Pannell, The King's College

Freshman • Corsicana, Texas

Pannell completed the Queensboro CC Invitational in 26:05 for 56th place in her first collegiate meet.

Men's Soccer Player of the Week

Carmine Tronolone, SUNY ESF

Sophomore • Goalkeeper • Buffalo, N.Y.

Tronolone had nine saves in a 1-0 shutout of Vaughn and eight saves in a 4-0 shutout of King's leading the Mighty Oaks to two league victories.

Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week

Jack Phillips, SUNY ESF

Freshman • Forward • Milwaukee, Wis.

Phillips scored the lone tally in a 1-0 win over Vaughn and added another in a 4-0 victory against King's.

Women's Soccer Player of the Week

Katie Benson, Albany Pharmacy

Senior • Striker • Clifton Park, N.Y.

Benson had two goals and two assists in the Panthers' win against SUNY Poly last week to mark their first win of the season.

Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week

Rachael Foote, SUNY ESF

Freshman • Midfielder • Arcade, N.Y.

Foote scored her first collegiate goal on three shots in a 3-0 shutout of King's.

Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

Linnea Sweeney, Davis

Junior • Cortland, N.Y.

The junior led the Falcons attack with 13 kills in a 3-1 win at Penn State Schuylkill, as well as two service aces, two digs, and a block on the night. 

Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week

Samantha Klozik, King's

Freshman • Outside Hitter • Plymouth, Mich.

Klozik had 28 kills and 55 digs and scored 33 points in a 1-3 week for King's.

Honor Roll

Mark Barakat, Culinary • Men's Soccer

The midfielder scored a goal and registered an assist in a 7-1 win over Webb.

Dario Cruz Sepulveda, Berkeley • Men's Soccer

The goalkeeper allowed just one goal in a loss at Maritime and made six saves in defeat against Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse.

Bailey Kaufman, King's • Women's Soccer

Kaufman made 34 saves in a 3-0 loss to SUNY ESF. 

Ammon McGilbra, Culinary • Men's Soccer

McGilbra had a clean sheet with four saves in one half versus Webb and came away with nine saves in a one-goal loss to Pratt.

Braedyn Mims, Davis • Women's Volleyball

Mims did a little bit of everything in a 3-1 win over Penn State-Schuylkill with eight kills, four aces, and four blocks.

Julia Newsome, Albany Pharmacy • Women's Soccer

The rookie started on defense in both games this week and helped lead the Panthers to their first win against a tough SUNY Poly team.

Julissa Osorio, Berkeley • Women's Cross Country

Osorio finished 58th out of 167 scoring runners at the Queensboro CC Invitational with a time of 26:09.

Julio Sanchez, Berkeley • Men's Cross Country

The freshman was the top finisher for the Knights at the Queensboro CC Invitational posting an 8K time of 37:43 taking 81st.
