Women's Tennis Player of the Week

Melanie Kania, Pratt

Senior • Endicott, N.Y.

Kania took home in wins in No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles in Pratt's 9-0 victory over Delhi.

Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week

Amy Young, Pratt

Freshman • Vancouver, Canada

Young was victorious at No. 1 singles (7-5, 6-2) and No. 2 doubles (8-0) to lead Pratt over Delhi (9-0).

Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

Imani DeBose, New Rochelle

Junior • Outside Hitter

DeBose slammed 11 kills in each of New Rochelle's three wins on the week on an efficient .538 hitting percentage.  

Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week

Samantha Klozik, King's

Freshman • Outside Hitter • Plymouth, Mich.

Klozik had a pair of double-doubles in a 1-1 weekend for King's earning her third-straight Rookie of the Week award.

Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Micah Paulec, King's

Junior • Cape Coral, Fla.

The Cape Coral native led King's at the York Invitational finishing 34th and traversing the 8K course in 34:58.

Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

Shi'eym Lennon, Berkeley

Freshman • Patterson, N.J.

Lennon placed 50th out of 145 runners to lead Berkeley at the Bard Invitational with an 8K time of 32:02.

Women's Soccer Player of the Week

Katie Benson, Albany Pharmacy

Senior • Striker • Clifton Park, N.Y.

Benson poured in both goals in a 2-1 double OT win over ESF and followed with a hat-trick and five assists leading the Panthers to a 9-0 rout of Pratt. This is her second Player of the Week award in a row.

Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week

Julia Newsome, Albany Pharmacy

Freshman • Defender

Newsome anchored the Panthers' defense in a 9-0 shutout of Pratt.

Men's Soccer Player of the Week

Denis Moshchenko, Vaughn

Senior • Forward • Brooklyn, N.Y.

Moshchenko scored three goals and had two assists in Vaughn's 1-1 week with a hat-trick and an assist against Cooper Union leading the Warriors to their first win of the season.

Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week

Spencer Smith, King's

Freshman • Striker • Eugene, Ore.

Smith had 5 goals and an assist in an HVIAC conference win against Culinary as King's went 2-0 for the week.

Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Julissa Osorio, Berkeley

Freshman • Passaic, N.J.

Osorio paced Berkeley at the Bard Invitational finishing 67th out of 137 with a time of 30:11 (6K).

Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

Lauren Pannell, King's

Freshman • Corsicana, Texas

The freshman finished the York Invitational in 30:23 placing 21st out of 89 runners and earned her second-straight Rookie of the Week award.

 

Honor Roll

Corinne Boonstra, King's • Women's Soccer

The sophomore recorded 13 shots and scored two goals in her first game back from injury as King's notched a 2-0 HVIAC victory against New Rochelle.

Xavier Cruzata, New Rochelle • Men's Soccer

The sophomore netted two goals in a 6-3 league victory over Vaughn.

Zachary Fall, Vaughn  • Men's Cross Country

The freshman finished in 26th overall at the York Invitational posting a time of 33:46.

Ashley Ferrando, Culinary • Women's Volleyball

The sophomore accumulated 11 assists, 10 digs and two aces over the weekend.

Marcelo Furchi, New Rochelle • Men's Soccer

The freshman notched a goal and an assist in the Blue Angels' triumph over Vaughn.

Renae Maganza, King's • Women's Volleyball

The freshman had 65 assists and 21 digs as King's went 1-1 over the weekend.

Maureen McCarthy, SUNY-ESF • Women's Soccer

McCarthy scored two goals in ESF's 3-1 over Paul Smith's College in the annual Barkeaters Cup game.

Michaela McLeod, Davis • Women's Volleyball

The sophomore totaled 18 kills, 23 digs, and two blocks in three contests last week. In a five-set battle with Pratt she sent home 12 kills and picked up 11 digs.

Kevin Moreira, Vaughn • Men's Soccer

The rookie put up two goals in a conference loss to New Rochelle and added a goal and an assist in a win over Cooper Union.

Jack Phillips, SUNY ESF • Men's Soccer

The freshman scored a hat-trick versus Paul Smith's College for a 6-0 ESF victory in the annual Barkeaters Cup.

Isabelle Sandmeyer, King's • Women's Volleyball

The senior had 30 kills, seven aces, 17 digs and 37.5 points as King's went 1-1 over the weekend.

Erica Stockwell, Davis • Women's Volleyball

Stockwell accumulated 102 digs on the week averaging 9.27 digs per set and in a win at Cayuga Community College she totaled eight service aces to go with 41 digs.
