HVIAC Players of the Week - November 13

Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Elizabeth Singleton, Davis

Freshman • Guard • Schenectady, N.Y.

In her first three collegiate games (all wins), Singleton averaged 20.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists, including a 29-point, 11-rebound effort in her debut against SUNY Broome.

Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week

Alison Aten, Davis

Freshman • Guard • Streetsboro, Ohio

In her first week of college game action, Aten averaged 9.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in three victories, including an all-around game versus Word of Life with 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and four steals. 

Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Steven Bujnowski, Culinary

Senior • Guard • Mullica Hill, N.J.

Bujnowski put up a 21-point, 13-rebound (eight offensive) double-double in a win over Cooper Union and stayed hot the next day with 29 points and eight boards against Five Towns.

Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week

Deylon Bovell, Berkeley

Junior • Guard • Brooklyn, NY

Bovell dropped 32 points on 10-of-15 shooting with 10 boards, five assists, and two steals, as well as a game-tying three-pointer at the end of overtime, in a double-overtime victory over West Virginia Tech.

 

Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week

Joel Martineau, Albany Pharmacy

Freshman • Guard • Ausable Forks, N.Y.

Martineau tallied 16 points on 50% shooting in a win over Bryant & Stratton-Liverpool and followed it up with a nine-point effort against Southern Maine C.C.

Honor Roll

Naythan Beltran, Albany Pharmacy • Men's Basketball

The junior guard averaged 21.5 points (57.7% FG, 50% 3FG) and 4.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Panthers. 

Malcolm Hansford-Whyte, New Rochelle • Men's Basketball

The rookie notched a career-high 11 points, along with six caroms, in a win versus Penn State-Schuylkill.

Jackson Henri, Davis • Men's Basketball

The junior posted two double-doubles and averaged 17.7 points and 8.3 rebounds in a three-game week for the Falcons.

Hunter Schenkel, New Rochelle • Men's Basketball

The junior guard became the first player in program history to reach 1,000 points and posted 21.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game over two contests. 

Clare Snell, Albany Pharmacy • Women's Basketball

The freshman averaged 10 points and 6.5 rebounds during her first week of collegiate games.

Emma Webster, Albany Pharmacy • Women's Basketball

The junior totaled 18 points, four rebounds, and an assist in the season-opener against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
