HVIAC Players of the Week - February 5

Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Kyle Matousek, Albany Pharmacy

Senior • Guard • Jordan-Elbridge, N.Y.

Matousek averaged 20.7 points on 51.2 percent shooting, 6.3 rebounds, three assists, and 2.7 steals in a 2-1 week for the Panthers. In their 94-88 victory against Vermont Tech, the senior dropped 29 points (11-19 FG), six assists, five rebounds, and four steals.

Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week

Jordan Bishop, King's

Freshman • Guard • Hermon, Maine

Bishop notched 15+ points in four-straight outings for the Lions averaging 16.8 and 5.5 rebounds on the week. Most notably, he put up 20 points, seven rebounds, and two steals versus Touro.

Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Alison Aten, Davis

Freshman • Streetsboro, Ohio

Aten set program records of 42 points and 12 three-pointers (10 rebounds) in a 97-18 win over Vaughn averaging 23.3 points, 9.3 boards, and 2.3 blocks in a 3-0 week for Davis.

Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week

Elizabeth Singleton, Davis

Freshman • Schenectady, N.Y.

Singleton had 19 points (55.6% FG), 7.3 assists, and five rebounds per game as the Falcons won three-straight this past week. The rookie had an all-around performance in a convincing win over Vaughn with 12 points, 11 assists, three boards, a steal, and a block.

Honor Roll

Benjamin Borchelt, King's • Men's Basketball

The senior averaged 16.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in four games last week including 22 points on perfect shooting (8-for-8) at Five Towns.

Christian Castanho, Culinary • Men's Basketball

The rookie point guard had 16 points on efficient 5-for-8 shooting and a 3-for-4 mark from deep in an HVIAC loss to SUNY ESF.

Cole Paradies, SUNY ESF • Men's Basketball

The sophomore averaged a near double-double (16.5 pts, 9.5 reb) this past week highlighted by 22 points (8-for-13 FG), 11 rebounds, and two blocks in a win over Culinary.

Catie Shoemaker, King's • Women's Basketball

The sophomore had a double-double against Pratt with 12 points and 14 rebounds posting nine points and 10 rebounds per game in a 0-2 week.

Clare Snell, Albany Pharmacy • Women's Basketball

The rookie filled up the stat sheet with 16 points, seven steals, six caroms, five assists, and a block in her team's comeback triumph over Pratt.

Kelvin Tompkins, Davis • Men's Basketball

The junior averaged 15.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, three assists, and three steals in a three-game span in which the Falcons went 2-1. In a blowout victory against Vaughn, Tompkins poured in 18 points, six rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Emma Webster, Albany Pharmacy • Women's Basketball

The junior scored 20 points and hit a triple to bring her team within one as well as the game-winning free-throws in a narrow win versus Pratt.
