HVIAC Players of the Week - October 1

Men's Soccer Player of the Week

Amadou Sy, Berkeley

Sophomore • Forward • Dakar, Senegal

Sy netted a brace in Berkeley's 3-2 win over NCAA Division III Vassar and was responsible for all of the Knights' goals with another brace and a pair of assists in a 4-0 triumph over HVIAC foe SUNY ESF.

Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week

William Rivera, Five Towns

Freshman • Midfielder • Great Neck, N.Y.

Rivera put up four goals on five shots including the game-winner in an 11-1 conference victory over Culinary.

Women's Soccer Player of the Week

Bailey Kaufman, King's

Junior • Goalkeeper • Lincoln, Neb.

Kaufman started in goal and made a save, then played the rest of the game out on the field and recorded a goal and assist in a conference win against Five Towns.

Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week

Kaitlyn Simon, King's

Freshman • Midfielder • Loudonville, N.Y.

Simon notched her first three collegiate goals with a hat trick in an HVIAC victory over Five Towns.

Women's Tennis Player of the Week

Sophie Bischoff, Pratt

Junior • Durham, N.C.

Bischoff collects her third-straight Player of the Week accolade with a convincing (6-1, 6-1) first singles victory against NCAA Division III Kean as well as winning 8-1 at No. 1 doubles in the same match.

Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week

Lisa Fan, Pratt

Freshman • Guangdong, China

Fan earns back-to-back Rookie of the Week awards with a hard-fought win at fifth singles (6-3, 0-6, 10-8) against Kean.

Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

Lanasia Drain, Five Towns

Freshman • Middle Blocker • Bay Shore, N.Y.

Last week's Rookie of the Week, Drain went off with 42 kills, six aces, and six total blocks including a game-high 25 kills in a five-set victory over USCAA #10 NHTI.

Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week

Anna Matytsina, Five Towns

Freshman • Right Side • Brooklyn, N.Y.

The rookie totaled 24 kills and 45 digs on the week including her first collegiate double-double with 17 kills and 21 digs against USCAA #10 NHTI as the Sound won, 3-2.

Honor Roll

Paola Beniquez, Pratt • Women's Volleyball

The junior amassed 25 kills, 25 digs, and 20 aces over a 4-0 week for Pratt.

Casey Baughman, Culinary • Men's Soccer

The senior scored his first career goal in a conference loss to Five Towns.

Mouhamed Diop Dia, Five Towns • Men's Soccer

The freshman allowed just one goal on a PK in 165 minutes in net last week and leads the HVIAC with a .912 save percentage.

Shannon Donnelly, Albany Pharmacy • Women's Soccer

The rookie had a pair of helpers in her team's 6-0 win against Bryant & Stratton-Albany.

Avery Johnson, King's • Women's Volleyball

The freshman had 22 kills, 16 digs, and 13 service aces as King's went 2-1 over the weekend.

Noah Keith, Albany Pharmacy • Men's Soccer

The senior had the golden goal in double overtime lifting the Panthers over Bryant & Stratton-Albany, 3-2.

Edvin Loefgren, King's • Men's Soccer

The junior had the game's only goal in a 1-0, HVIAC win over Five Towns and also scored the game-winner over fellow league rival Vaughn.

Mayle Lupia-Eannace, Albany Pharmacy • Women's Soccer

The freshman tallied four goals in a win over Bryant & Stratton-Albany.

Renae Maganza, King's • Women's Volleyball

The sophomore had 50 assists and helped King's to a 2-1 record over the weekend.

Alex Rivera, Albany Pharmacy • Men's Soccer

The freshman handed out an assist in the Panther's 3-2 win over Bryant & Stratton-Albany.
