Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Kyree Sawyer, Five Towns

Junior • Guard • Bay Shore, N.Y.

Sawyer had a stellar week averaging 24.3 points on 58 percent shooting with 6.3 rebounds, 5,3 assists, and 1.3 steals. Most notably, he went off for 34 points (15-20 FG), nine rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in a decisive HVIAC win over King's.

Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week

Jesse Filho, King's

Freshman • Guard • Belo Horizonte, Brazil

Filho averaged 19 points and four rebounds in two games for King's including a 25-point performance (10-19 FG) in the loss to Five Towns.

Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Emma Webster, Albany Pharmacy

Senior • Guard • Cadyville, N.Y.

Webster dropped 26 points on 8-15 shooting (7-13 3FG) with three rebounds and a steal in a one-sided HVIAC victory over Five Towns.

Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week

Lanasia Drain, Five Towns

Freshman • Forward • Bay Shore, N.Y.

Drain had averages of 12 points and 13 rebounds across a pair of games for the Sound including 15 points, 15 rebounds, two blocks, an assist, and a steal in a loss to Albany Pharmacy.

Honor Roll

John Ambert, Albany Pharmacy • Men's Basketball

The senior notched 13 points (6-10 FG), nine rebounds, and five assists in a one-point win over Five Towns.

Tyler Bowens, King's • Men's Basketball

The sophomore averaged a double-double of 13 points and 11.5 rebounds in an 0-2 week for the Lions.

Turray Bynum, Berkeley • Men's Basketball

The sophomore put up 19 points (7-15 FG) and seven boards in a loss to Washington Adventist. 

Zachary Dormer, SUNY ESF • Men's Basketball

The junior led the Oaks to a league win over Word of Life with 22 points on 7-11 shooting.

Kaina Martinez, Berkeley • Women's Basketball

The junior averaged 15.5 points including 21 against NCAA Division III Fisher.

Matt Mcfarland, SUNY ESF • Men's Basketball

The freshman contributed 10 points in the win over Word of Life.

Eric Romero, Five Towns • Men's Basketball

The rookie posted 11 points in back-to-back outings for the Sound.

Sarah Sudfeld, King's • Women's Basketball

The freshman picked up her first collegiate double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to Pratt.

Hope Walker, Albany Pharmacy • Women's Basketball

The rookie had a 17-point (7-11 FG), 10-rebound double-double as the Panthers downed league foe Five Towns.

Daniella Wood, Berkeley • Women's Basketball

The freshman led the Knights to a triumph over Webb with 19 points (8-15 FG) and 10 caroms.
