Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week (Week #12)

The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognizes the following Student-Athletes for their performance in Week #12 of the 2023-2024 Men's and Women's Basketball season.

This week the honor of Men's Basketball Player of the Week goes to Taron Benton of Villa Maria College. Benton posted a double-double(27 points, 10 rebounds) dished out, and stole the ball once in a Vikings victory over SUNY ESF.

The honor of Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week goes to Corbin Baker from the Word of Life Bible Institute. Over the course of three games, Baker averaged 5.7 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Notable performances were had by Quentin Lackey from the Word of Life Bible Institute and Kenneth Hines of Berkeley College. Lackey averaged 20 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 steals over the span of three games for the Huskies. Hines posted a double-double(17 points, 11 rebounds) in a Knights victory against Bucks County Community College.

On the Women's Basketball side of the HVIAC for Week #12, the honor of Women's Basketball Player of the Week goes to MJ Buck from the Word of Life Bible Institute. During the week Buck averaged 12.5 points and 10 rebounds for the Huskies.

Allison Baker from the Word of Life Bible Institute is selected as Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week. Baker averaged 12.5 points, and 10.5 rebounds over the span of two games.
