On Saturday, October 27, The King's College Women's Soccer team traveled to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences to take on SUNY-ESF, in their sixth straight Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Playoff Semi-finals appearance. The Lady Lions faced off against SUNY-ESF in their first regular season game, dropping to the Mighty Oaks 3-0. Coming onto the field, in the cold and the rainy weather, these Lady Lions knew this would be a tough game to win.

In the first ten minutes of the game, SUNY-ESF managed to fire five shots on target, all being saved by sophomore goalkeeper Bailey Kaufman. It wasn't until twenty-two minutes into the game, that ESF's Alyssa Hughes was able to put a goal away, after her and her teammates had tried eleven times. SUNY-ESF was able to score two more goals in the first half, making the score 3-0.

Despite the Lady Lions not scoring, their defensive line comprised of senior Megan LeBlanc, junior Rebekah Lambdin, junior Kathryn Brooks, freshman Audrey Wheeler, and goalkeeper Bailey Kaufman, did a great job at keeping the ball out of the net, with no goals being scored in the second half. Kaufman ended the game with twenty-five saves and her season with a total of ninety-nine saves.

To round out this game, Jaclynn Kelly took the first shot of the game for The King's College, two minutes before the end of the second half. The Lady Lions weathered the storm and walked away from this game proud of the season they had played.
