Warriors Shocked By Culinary At Home

The Vaughn College Warriors played their second Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) game against the Culinary Institute Steels at home on Sunday, December 8. The Warriors entered the game coming off a tough loss to ASA College (Manhattan) in their previous outing. The Warriors had a 43-34 lead over the Steels at halftime.

Turnovers would plague the Warriors in the second half helping the Steels to get back in the game. The Warriors would relinquish their first half lead to the Steels late in the second half. Unfortunately the Warriors were unable to make timely shots down the stretch of the game. They would fall to the Steels by a final score of 85-82.

The loss drops the Warriors record in the HVIAC to 1-1 and overall record to 5-6.

Marcus Heron (Yonkers, NY) scored a season-high 36 points in the loss. Kemarlie McLean (Brookln, NY) finished with 21 points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal. Patrick Silva Da Cruz (Yonkers, NY) added seven points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
