Women End First Half Of the Season Against Berkeley College (NY)

The Vaughn College women's basketball team played their last game of the semester against the Berkeley College (NY) Knights on Wednesday, December 18. The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) match was played at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC). The Warriors entered the game coming off a huge conference win against Word of Life Bible in their previous contest.

The Warriors were lead by Joleen Gomez (Bridgeport, CT). Gomez scored a team-high 12 points, grabbed three rebounds, and registered one steal and one assist. Alexa Cruz (Pompton Lakes, NJ) tallied four points and pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds. This was Cruz six game with double-digit rebounds. Tahisha Jocelyn (Elmont, NY) added three points and 10 rebounds.

The Warriors battled the entire game but were able to compete with the depth of a deep Knights' team. They would go on to fall to the Knights in their last game of the semester before the winter break. The loss drops the Warriors record to (3-6) overall and (1-2) in the HVIAC.
