Warriors Struggle Against Bryant and Stratton Syracuse

On Friday, November 15, the Vaughn College women's basketball team hosted the Bryant and Stratton (Syracuse) Bobcats at Elmcor Recreation Center. It was a difficult task for the young Warriors basketball team. Despite being outmanned and outmatched by a more experience Bobcats team, the Warriors competed valiantly.

Early in the second quarter freshman guard Edwina Wright (New Orleans, LA) suffered a minor injury that would keep her off the court for the remainder of the game. Wright was the leading scorer for the Warriors up until that point. She exited the game with 14 points and two rebounds. The short-handed Warriors were unable to recover from losing their star guard and would go on to suffer their worse loss of their season thus far.

Alexa Cruz (Pompton Lakes, NJ) tallied four points and seven rebounds. Zuleika Briceno (Bronx, NY) added three points and six rebounds.

The loss drops the Warriors record to 1-3 on the season. The next game for the women's basketball team will be at Webb Insitute on Thursday, November 21.
