Women's Soccer Loses to Mount Saint Vincent

YONKERS, N.Y.— The Yeshiva University women's soccer team was defeated by the College of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV) 7-1 on Friday afternoon.
 
The visiting Dolphins scored five goals in the first half to take a commanding lead at halftime.  CMSV got the scoring started with a goal by Vanessa Cornacchio 4:06 into the contest, it was her first of three in the half as she scored three of the first four goals for the Dolphins. The second goal came off the foot of Taylor McGinn at the twelve minute marker to put CMSV up a pair. Cornaccho then netted the next two to put the Dolphins up 4-0 en route to the win.
 
The Maccabees got on the scoreboard in the sixty-fifth minute on a penalty kick by Merav Sadan Barach.
 
Yeshiva goalkeeper Annie Jaffe made 10 saves in net for the first half, while Elana Kook played the second half in net and saved another pair.
 
CMSV held a 26-1 advantage on shots in the contest and were led by Mandy D'Amico who fired seven, six of which were on net.
 
The Maccabees are back in action on Sunday for a contest against Fisher College at 4:30 p.m.
