The second set saw 21 tie scores as the teams exchanged point after point. The teams remained within two points of each other all the way up to a 25-25 draw. St. Joseph's Brooklyn (0-3, 0-2 HVMAC) snapped back in the third set, as three straight kills by Raul Urshela (Orlando, Fla., Colonial) sent the Bears on a 4-0 run to take a 12-8 lead. Sarah Lawrence recovered to tie the score at 15-15 but St. Joseph's closed the set on a 10-3 run to win 25-18. Urshela had five kills in the set.

Though the Bears began with a 5-0 run, the Gryphons answered with an 8-2 rally.
