Warriors Visit The Sound

The Vaughn College Warriors had a rough night against the Five Towns College Sound on Thursday, January 23. The Warriors suffered their third Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) loss to the gritty Sound men's basketball team. The loss drops the Warriors record in the HVIAC under .500. at (2-3).  In a tight playoff race the Warriors need to win their final two conference games to make the HVIAC post-season tournament. 

Marcus Heron lead the Warriors in scoring. The freshman guard from Yonkers, NY, finished with 21 points, (8-8 from the free throw line), and five assists. Louis Roche (Carteret, NJ) tied his season-high with 18 points. Michael Reed (Freeport, NY) had a monster double-double in a losing effort. Reed poured in 17 points and grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds. Kemarlie McLean (Brooklyn, NY) added 13 points.

The Warriors will have a week off before their next contest. On Friday, January 31, they will travel to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) to take on the Panthers who are currently 4-1 in the HVIAC.
