Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

NEW YORK - The Yeshiva University men's volleyball team is facing one of the toughest portions of its schedule, and suffered a pair of defeats Sunday afternoon at Max Stern Athletic Center to a pair of the Skyline Conference's top teams. The Maccabees first were downed in straight sets by Kean University (25-9, 25-12, 25-11), who was receiving votes in this week's AVCA NCAA Division III Top 15 Poll, before dropping a three-set contest to The Sage Colleges (25-11, 25-10, 25-12).

In the opening match of the day against the Cougars, YU senior middle blocker Daniel Lapson (Skokie, Ill.) put down a team-best four kills, while freshman defensive specialist Jorge Dabah (Miami, Fla.) passed a team-best six digs in the back row while adding one service ace. Junior libero Aaron Begin (Los Angeles, Calif.) contributed five digs to the Macs' defensive efforts.

Against Sage, junior middle blocker Menachem Goldstein (Chicago, Ill.) scored a team-best six points on five kills and two assisted blocks. Lapson registered a 4-1-9 (.333) hitting line against the Gators, while Begin and sophomore Ronan Weinberg Waks (Buenos Aires, Argentina; first collegiate service ace) passed four digs apiece.

Head coach Arnold Ross's YU side is back in home Skyline Conference action Tuesday night, when it welcomes conference once-beaten Ramapo College to Max Stern Athletic Center for an 8 p.m. first serve.
