COUGARS DROP A PAIR IN WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Jamaica, NY- The Women's Volleyball Cougars dropped a pair of CUNYAC Matches earlier today. In Match 1, the Cougars fell to the College of Staten Island Dolphins 3-0 (20-25, 16-25, and 26-28). The Cougars dropped to 1-4 Overall and 0-1 CUNYAC. The Dolphins improved to 2-3 Overall and 1-1 CUNYAC.

The Cougars were led by Freshman Kalifa Roberts with 5 kills on 10 total attacks. Roberts added a dig. Seniors Beatrice Bonhomme and Janiece Hill each recorded 4 kills. Bonhomme added 4 service aces, a dig, and 2 solo blocks. Hill added an assist, 3 digs, and a solo block. Sophomore Setter Nina Bernadine-White tallied 9 assists.

CSI was led by Pola Poskrobko with 9 kills.

In Match 2, the Cougars fell to the Lehman Lightning 3-0 (9-25, 7-25, and 14-25). The Cougars fall to 1-5 Overall and 0-2 CUNYAC while the Lightning improved to 5-2 Overall and 2-0 CUNYAC.

The Cougars were led by Seniors Beatrice Bonhomme and Janiece Hill. Each recorded 3 kills apiece. Hill tallied an assist and 7 digs. Bonhomme tallied a dig and 2 solo blocks. Sophomore Setter Nina Bernadine-White added 6 digs.

The Lightning were led by Cari English and Salveira Gonzalez with 5 kills. 

The Women's Volleyball squad will be back in action on Tuesday September 17, 2013, when they play the John Jay College Bloodhounds. It is the 2013 Home Opener for the Cougars. Game time is 7pm.
