Men's Basketball Ends Conference Season With a Loss

BOX SCORE

The ACPHS men's basketball teams ended their conference season on Saturday as they lost to St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn 34-73 in the semi-final game of the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference tournament.

St. Joseph's, the number two seed in the HVMAC, had previously beat the number three seeded Panthers in regular season play 81-61.

The Bears were on fire from the opening tip as they outscored the Panthers 12-2 in the first four minutes of the game. The Panthers seemed unable to catch up as the Bears went on several runs that would leave them up by 32 at the half.

The Bears would continue to pour on the offense in the second half while the Panthers would struggle to light up the scoreboard shooting just 20.6% from the field.

Leading scorer for the Panthers, Casey Redfern, was held to just seven points on the game, while Joe Britt led the team with 13 points and six rebounds.

The Panthers fall to 13-6 on the season as they travel to Pennsylvania next week to compete in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Tournament.
