Mighty Oaks Qualify for the Conference Tourney

The Mighty Oaks men's basketball traveled to New York City for the final two games of the season and took care of business.

In the first game, ESF topped conference rival Vaughn College, 84-74. Junior Zachary Dormer led ESF with 25 points off 11-16 shooting along with eight rebounds. Sophomore Logan Ameele had a double-double, ten points and 14 rebounds.

The following day, in a must-win game, ESF defeated the King's College, 74-50. Winner of the game qualifies for the final spot in the HVIAC (Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) post season tournament. Dormer again led all scorers with 18 points. Freshman Reid Patchett tied his season high with 14 points.

With the two wins, ESF qualifies for the post season conference for the second time in school history. The Mighty Oaks finish the regular season with a 9-9 overall record, 4-3 in conference play. ESF will face top seed Berkeley College, Feb. 15, 5 p.m. at Five Towns College in Dixon Hills, New York.
