Pottersville, NY – The Word of Life Huskies hosted the Paul Smith's College Bobcats on a brisk cold October night on Wednesday Evening. It was a back-and-forth attacking on both sides, but Joseph Mathews was the first to find the back of the net on a pass from Calem Mason in the 27th minute. The Huskies would add another in the 45th minute (30 seconds until halftime) with Joel Castro adding his first goal as a Word of Life Huskie to give Word of Life a 2-0 lead at halftime.
The Bobcats were not done yet as they put enough pressure on the Huskies which led to an own goal by the Huskies to make it 2-1 in the 66th minute of the game. Mathews had other ideas as he went in and scored his 2nd of the night and 15th of the season, on a pass from Calem Mason's 3rd assist of the night in the 73rd minute to give the Huskies a 3-1 victory and move to 6-2-1 on the 2023 season.
The Word of Life Huskies are back on the road against NHTI on Saturday, October 14th at 3 PM.
