ALBANY, N.Y. – St. Joseph's College senior David Louison was named the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year as the league announced the members of the All-HVIAC Men's Basketball Team at the conclusion of the 2014-15 HVIAC Tournament at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Louison, a senior forward, claimed the inaugural Player of the Year award averaging 17.8 points and 11.2 rebounds in conference play and leading St. Joseph's to a 5-1 conference record. The four-time All-HVIAC honoree recorded 19 double-doubles, third most in NCAA Division III.
Vaughn College freshman Sergio Mejia received Rookie of the Year honors averaging 17.3 points and 2.4 assists per game in league contests.
In total, 13 men received All-Conference recognition for outstanding play throughout the season with seven also tabbed for last year's All-HVIAC squad.
St. Joseph's College head coach Joseph Cocozello was selected as the 2015 Coach of the Year, his fourth straight year receiving the honor.
The HVIAC All-Conference Team, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year are selected by the conference’s men's basketball coaches based on regular season conference play.
