Men's Basketball: New Rochelle 93, Pratt 44

BROOKLYN, NY - The College of New Rochelle's men's basketball team traveled to Brooklyn on Sunday and captured their sixth consecutive win, defeating conference opponent Pratt Institute by the score of 93-44. The win was the team's sixth in a row, moving their overall record to 11-7. The Blue Angels are now 6-0 in the league, tied for first place with Berkeley College.
 
The team demonstrated their prowess on both sides of the floor in the first half as they entered halftime with a lead of 50-16. The charge was led by Brooklyn native and Freshman of the Year candidate Jaylin Gray (Brooklyn, NY) who scored 16 of his team high 19 points in the first half. Gray also contributed three rebounds and a steal in the win.
 
After regrouping for the second half, it was Chase Rosato (Staten Island, NY) who came out scorching as the sophomore scored 14 points in the game's second stanza. Rosato also collected five rebounds, three steals, and a block in the game. The 14 points mark a career high for Rosato.
 
Glen O'Loughlin (Yorktown Heights, NY) chipped in his second consecutive double digit scoring performance as the sophomore forward came off the bench to score 13 points while grabbing seven rebounds and two steals. Fellow forward Elijah Robinson (New York) also got on the glass as the freshman pulled down a career high ten rebounds in the win. Freshman Wesley Kra (Queens, NY) joined Robinson and O'Loughlin by scoring eight points to go along with eight rebounds. Hunter Schenkel (Sayville, NY) had nine points in the win.
 
All twelve players scored in the game. The team will attempt to keep their winning streak alive this Tuesday, January 30th, as they host non-conference opponent John Jay at the Wellness Center. Tip is at 7:00 PM.

BROOKLYN – The Cannoneers of Pratt Institute only shot 24.1-percent (13-54) from the field as they dropped their Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest to the Blue Angels of the College of New Rochelle, 93-44, Sunday afternoon at the ARC

The Blue Angels (11-7, 6-0 HVIAC) had three players score in double-figures, led by Jaylin Gray's 19 points. For Pratt (5-12, 1-4 HVIAC), Andrew Yaglenski's 27 points, on 10-of-24 shooting, led all scorers.

New Rochelle controlled the boards throughout the game, out rebounding Pratt by a 58-28 margin, including a 19-7 advantage on the offensive glass which led to 20 second-chance points. The Blue Angels would also capitalize on the Cannoneers miscues – converting 31 turnovers in 40 points.

UP NEXT – The Cannoneers resume their HVIAC schedule when they welcome the Falcons of Davis College to the ARC on Friday, February 2. Start time is 8:00 pm.
