The Vaughn College men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the regular season to the King's College Lion's on Saturday, September 28. This was the second Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) opponent the Warriors have faced in the past week. The match was held at Floyd Bennett Field at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn, NY.

For the second game in a row, the Warriors conceded the first goal of the game to their opponent. They would notch the game at 1-1 in 71st minute in the second half. Kevin Moreira (Brooklyn, NY) finished a breakaway goal off a long pass from Azzeddine Sekkat (Astoria, NY). Both Sekkat and Moreira have assisted or scored a goal for the Warriors in each game this season.

The Warriors controlled the tempo of play for most of the second half until giving up a tough penalty kick in the 84th minute of the game. Warriors' goalie Trevor Cleversley (Akron) saved the penalty kick but was unable to control the ball before Lions' midfielder Edvin Loefgren rebounded his own miss to score the game-winning goal.
